Chow Keung
Producer of Xstream Pictures (China)
Born in Hong Kong in 1966, Chow Keung studied Anthropology, Sociology and Media Studies in Hong Kong and New York respectively. On returning to Hong Kong in 1995, he had worked for the Hong Kong Arts Centre and Hong Kong Film Critics Society before turning to be a full-time filmmaker in 1997. In 2003, he co-founded Xstream Pictures with long time collaborators Jia Zhang-Ke and Yu Lik-Wai. In the past 13 years, he has produced 19 Chinese feature films with co-producers from around the world, including France, Japan, South Korea, Brazil, Netherlands, USA, Canada, China and Hong Kong. 13 of the films were selected to the official sections of Cannes or Venice, includes Jia Zhang-Ke's Still Life (2006, Golden Lion Award, Venice). Chow Keung is also producing documentary. One of them is currently in shooting with an Italian partner.
