Kirsten Niehuus
Managing Director of Film Funding Medienboard Berlin Brandenburg GmbH (Germany)
Kirsten Niehuus is the Managing Director in charge of Film Funding at the Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg GmbH. Niehuus studied law and worked as a lawyer in Hamburg focusing on copyright and media law. Taking up a position as legal counsel for the German Federal Film Board (FFA) in 1991, she finally turned her passion for cinema into a profession. From 1995 to 1999 she continued her work as legal counsel in the private sector at Senator Film GmbH in Berlin. She then returned to the FFA in as deputy chair of the executive board. In November 2004, Niehuus became the managing director in charge of film funding at the Medienboard. From 2003 to 2004, she was also vice president of Eurimages (the Council of Europe’s Cinema Support Fund).
