Ms Maria Lo Orzel Representative, Producers Guild of America A Hong Kong and Los Angeles based filmmaker, MARIA LO ORZEL focuses on English language feature films, documentary television as well as creative consulting. Her recent productions include the award-winning crime thriller “Four Assassins” which stars Hollywood actors Will Yun Lee and Miguel Ferrer; and “Lost for Words”, a cross-cultural romance features American star Sean Faris and Hong Kong actors Terence Yin and Grace Huang. “Vanishing Asia”, an 8-part documentary series focusing on endangered cultural heritage premiered on the Discovery Channel in Asia in first quarter 2018. On her production slate are the fantasy thriller “Shadowless” currently in pre-production, and the psychological thriller “Falling Leaves”, the highly anticipated directorial debut of noted Taiwanese producer Gisele Yeh. In her capacity as creative consultant, she has collaborated with a wide range of Asian filmmakers including Bill Kong and Zhang Yimou on “Hero” and “House of Flying Daggers”, and with Ronny Yu on Jet Li’s final martial arts epic “Fearless”. She began her entertainment career as an executive holding several high level positions first at Home Box Office in the United States, then as Regional Vice President at United International Pictures (a Paramount, Universal and MGM/UA company). She was the first woman to head an international operation of any U.S. studio, and the first woman to chair a chapter of the MPEAA. Ms. Orzel graduated Bachelor of Arts, Magna cum Laude from the University of Wisconsin, and received an MBA from Syracuse University, New York. She is a member of the Producers Guild of America.
