Mr Yasuo Furuhata

Born in Tokyo in 1966, Mr. Furuhata Yasuo is the current deputy director of International Report Office in Japan Kyodo News. After graduating in the Faculty of Letters at the University of Tokyo in 1989, he began his career in the Kyodo News. Having worked in branch office for several years, he was sent to pursue further study in language at the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing by the headquarters in 1997. Between 2001 and 2016, he was responsible to plan and operate the site “Kyodo News”, which is a Chinese news website run by the same news agency. His literary works include “The Internet Community in the Age of Xi Jinping” (published by Bensei Shuppansha in 2016), “Rebellion of Cyber Citizens – Will the Internet Change China?” (published by Bensei Shuppansha in 2012), to name a few.
