Ms Kang Hye Jung CEO, Filmmakers R&K Hye-jung Kang first got started in film production through a film workshop she happened to attend in 1993 when she graduated college. She began with promoting and marketing international films in Korea and then moved on to planning, producing, promoting and marketing Korean films. In 2005, she established Filmmaker R&K along with film director Seung-wan Ryoo and produced The City of Violence which received recognition when it was selected as the opening film for the non-competition Midnight Section at the 2006 Venice Film Festival. Kang produced The Berlin File (2013), Veteran (2015) and The Battleship Island, which were all big box office successes and has been acknowledged for her production skills in producing genre films. She is currently in production of Savaha: The Sixth Finger, the second feature by director Jae-hyun Jang who debuted with The Priests.
