Mr. Allen Yu ----- PPT available Vice President, Operations, DHL Express Hong Kong Speech topic: Understanding Trading Trends in Emerging European Markets with DHL(Download Powerpoint)   Mr. Allen Yu is Vice President, Operations, Hong Kong, DHL Express, responsible for managing operations and over 1,000 operations staff and delivery couriers to ensure on-time delivery and pick-up of shipments in Hong Kong. Mr. Yu has 20 years of experience in the express and logistics industry. From 1999 to 2001, Mr. Yu managed Taipei Gateway for DHL Express, first as a Deputy General Manager of the facility and then as General Manager. Mr. Yu was the National Operations Director of DHL Express Taiwan from 2001 to 2004. He was instrumental in upgrading DHL Express’ ground facilities in Taiwan and attained industry- recognized certifications for all DHL Express’s facilities in Taiwan. He also volunteered at the European Chamber of Commerce in Taipei as a director and actively participated in various subcommittees to foster business and trade ties between Europe and Taiwan. In 2004, Mr. Yu relocated to Hong Kong and was named Operations Director of DHL Express Hong Kong. In November 2008, Mr Yu’s role expanded geographically to cover both Taiwan and Hong Kong where he was responsible for the overall operations in both markets. Under Mr. Yu’s leadership, both markets were ranked #1 in the DHL world in operations performance in 2009. Prior to joining DHL, Mr Yu was with Worldwide Freight Terminal, Inc. as Deputy General Manager, in charge of business development, container yard management and IT. Mr. Yu holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from Boston University, a Master of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology and a Master of Art in Comparative and Public History from Chinese University of Hong Kong.
