Mr. Gao Ting Managing Director, Head Macroeconomics APAC, Chief Investment Office, Wealth Management, UBS AG Speech Topic:Analysing Trade & Investment Opportunities in Mainland China Gao Ting is Head Macroeconomics APAC at UBS Chief Investment Office WM in Hong Kong. Prior to joining APAC Investment Office, he was Chief China Strategist and Head of Wealth Management Research at UBS Securities Co. Ltd in Shanghai. His coverage included China domestic-listed asset allocation, market outlook and A-shares equity sector strategy. Prior to joining UBS in August 2010, Gao Ting worked as a macroeconomist and Chief A-share Strategist at China International Capital Corporation (CICC) from 2005 to 2010. One of his achievements over that period was reaching the top China Equity Strategist in 2008 in New Fortune magazine's annual rankings. Before entering the financial industry, Gao Ting was an assistant professor of economics at the University of Missouri - Columbia, primarily teaching macroeconomics and international economics. He also taught at the City University of Hong Kong and National University of Singapore on shorter appointments, and visited the International Finance Division of the US Federal Reserve on a summer research fellowship in 1996. Gao Ting received a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan, a Master’s in economics from the University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas, and a Bachelor’s in engineering from the University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei, Anhui.
