Mr Dodo Cheng

Speaker's Profile:
Dodo Cheng is a registered social worker who interested in community engagement and development. With the support of The Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Fund, he had founded the social enterprise “Sharing Kitchen HK” in April 2016 and created great responses with the innovative ideas on sharing economy. Till now six restaurants had shared their kitchen for social purpose.

Dodo is now the executive director of Community Development Alliance (CDA), a member organization of International Association for Community development. CDA has launched a social capital project in Tin Siu Wai called Dawn Market in 2008. The project target low income families and counseling only to helping them to increase family incomes through being a hawker. By the end of 2012, Hong Kong government built a new market in another location in the same district to house all these hawkers.

Dodo also serves as a part-time lecturer and supervisor of Department of Social Work, Hong Kong Baptist University. He is responsible on teaching classes related to sustainable development, community development and community economy. He is the co-founder and chairman of Community Development Enhancement Fund Limited, a member organization of The Hong Kong Council of Social Service. Dodo is a director of Fullness Social Enterprise Society, director of Hong Kong Social Workers’ General Union and consultant of social enterprises including Fantastic Dream and Growth Playground.
