Dr. MA Runsheng (Chinese Mainland)

Mr. Ma Runsheng is the state’s First-Class director. He graduated from the Central Academy of Drama with a doctorate degree in literature (arts), a post-doctoral in arts from the Communication and Art Institute of Beijing Normal University, and issued his academic monograph, On Epic. Mr. Ma has previously worked in China Television Arts Council, China Teleplay Production Center Co., Ltd., China International Television Corporation, and China Radio, Film and Television Programs Exchange Center. Now he is the vice president of the China Television Drama Production Industry Association and the vice president of the Television Arts Working Committee of China Radio and Television Association. He is devoted to the career in TV content producing, publishing, and distributing in China and overseas market, promoting excellent culture of all human beings, enriching people’s lives, and facilitating Chinese culture marching out to the world stage. Mr. Ma was the producer and director in the drama series The Story of Hong Kong, a tribute TV play in commemoration of Hong Kong’s return to China; War of China’s Fate, a tribute TV play in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China; Sunrise in the East, a tribute TV play in commemoration of 80th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Communist Party, which were awarded the “Five Ones Project”, “Flying Apsaras Awards”, and “Golden Eagle Award” for national TV plays. He was the producer, executive producer, and executive director of Kangxi Dynasty, Founding Emperor of Ming Dynasty, King of Silk, etc., which were all broadcast on CCTV. The 20-episode Mission for Peace won the Russian Special Award at the 2009 Eurasia Radio and TV Forum. The major television series "The Road of China", in which he served as the general director, had created a precedent for Chinese academic political commentary, and won the 23th "Starlight Award" TV documentary award in 2014.
