Mr. Doug Mitchell Producer of Mad Max: Fury Road DOUG MITCHELL has been George Miller’s business partner and producer for 35 years. Mitchell was born in Colombia and educated at Scottish boarding schools. After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in London, he relocated to Sydney, Australia where he became the protégé of the late Byron Kennedy, adding his knowledge of finance to the creative acumen of Kennedy and Miller. As well as producing the critically-acclaimed feature film “MAD MAX: FURY ROAD”, for which he received an Oscar nomination, he produced the 2006 smash hit “HAPPY FEET”, directed by Miller, which won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. Mitchell also produced the 2011 hit sequel, “HAPPY FEET TWO”. He previously earned an Oscar nomination as a producer on the worldwide hit “BABE” and was a producer on its sequel, “BABE: PIG IN THE CITY”. His extensive filmography includes the feature films “LORENZO’S OIL”, “FLIRTING”, “DEAD CALM”, “THE YEAR MY VOICE BROKE” and “MAD MAX BEYOND THUNDERDOME”. He also produced the miniseries “BANGKOK HILTON”, “THE DIRTWATER DYNASTY”, “VIETNAM”, “BODYLINE” and “THE COWRA BREAKOUT”.
